Popping the question during the holidays is such a thoughtful and memorable time of year! The Yes Girls have a few key tips to keep in mind if you plan to propose during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years or even into Valentine's Day.
1. Avoid Proposing On The Holiday Itself
If you plan to involved vendors like a professional photographer, videographer, etc. to capture your memorable down on one knee moment, it's best to choose a date like December 22nd verse 25th because they will more likely be available and/or you'll avoid any holiday upcharges.
2. Ditch A Bulky Ring Box.
Conceal the engagement ring with a thin engagement ring box like this one. A bulky box in your jacket or pant pocket will be a dead giveaway. She will even consider what might be inside a wrapped gift so it's better to just keep the engagement ring fully hidden and discreet if you want her to be totally surprised.
3. Play Into Fun Traditions
If her family has a sweet holiday tradition (like Christmas Tree hunting) or a bucket list they do for New Years, this is a fun way you can play off traditions and use it for your perfet proposal. Not only will it set up your ruse easier (she will be less suspicious if she is doing something she already planned to do) but it will be a nice way to honor her family and put a spin on this fun holiday tradition!
